Debbie Avery

North East

I work with time-starved professionals who want to improve their health, fitness and productivity as effortlessly and effectively as possible. After 30 years working in corporate-land, I understand the impact that a stressful job can have on your life and health, and how difficult it can be to fit healthy options and exercise into a very busy day.

With a Masters Degree in Leadership and Change, I’ve played a significant role in the digital and operational transformation of many large companies. I now focus on helping the individual people who help to bring about those changes, to help them balance their lives, be more effective and to take back control of their health.

My qualifications as a Health Coach, a Pilates Instructor and a WalkActive Coach, provide 3 pillars or focal points in a journey of personal transformation. Sometimes all you need is a nudge and someone there to help you stay on track. The WalkActive Method played a very significant role in my own transformation and I’m now keen to help others to realise the same benefits around a busy schedule. The great thing about The WalkActive Method is that it is transformative and you tan take the benefits into all areas of your life.

I run 5 week transformation programmes and monthly Level 1, 2 and 3 workshops in the York, Harrogate and Knaresborough areas. I also run bespoke corporate team building and effectiveness workshops.

What I teach:

1 on 1, Small groups and Weekly WalkActive Workouts.

Faye Andrews

Berkshire

Hello, I’m Faye and I’m a Health and Wellness Coach and Master NLP Practitioner based in Berkshire.

I want to help people move more for all of the positive benefits that moving regularly brings….particularly better mental health, improvement of mood and longevity of movement.

As a busy working mum I’ve struggled to stick to a regular exercise regime, and so finding The WalkActive Method as a means to get outside, walk on a regular basis and improve my fitness has been really wonderful. I can always find the time and space to fit in a walk using this method.

The experience of becoming a WalkActive Trainer has been transformational. I can’t wait to share my knowledge and support you in making the changes that are important to you.

Stephanie Lashmar

Surrey & Sussex

Hello I’m Steph, I’m a Sports Therapist and Health coach specialising in behaviour change and I’m based in Surrey.

I have worked in the Health & Wellness space for over 25 years and have experience of working with people with a range of different injuries, abilities and exercise backgrounds.

I’m passionate about helping people to return to exercise after injury or time out, empowering them to feel confident about their bodies and movement and get back to the things they enjoy the most in life.

After hearing about The WalkActive Method from a keen ‘WalkActivist’ I was interested to find out if it could benefit my clients both in the clinic and through exercise sessions. What I found was that WalkActive can be an integral part of both a client’s rehab and fitness journey, embedding new skills into an activity (walking) that we all need to do every day, whilst helping the person to move well, with less pain and move more often.

Since becoming a WalkActive Instructor, I have experienced transformational changes in my own body and I’m now feeling stronger and walking taller than ever.

I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge, passion and energy for The WalkActive Method with you!

1 on 1, Small groups and Weekly WalkActive Workouts.

Mandy Rushen

Nottinghamshire

Hello, I’m Mandy Rushen.

Essentially my love of walking and the benefits it has on my own mental and physical health, led me to train in and deliver this effective and really enjoyable way to exercise.

I was drawn to WalkActive immediately, as it all made perfect sense. It has completely altered the way I walk and I have a much stronger sense of body awareness, particularly the importance of an improved posture.

By understanding and implementing the simple changes that WalkActive encourages, I now walk taller and stronger and feel fitter. I am keen to help others benefit from learning this technique. Alongside my WalkActive qualification I also studied for my Level 2 Certificate in Group Training.

Walking for me is fundamental to a better happier lifestyle – it makes every day a better day!

What I teach:

Anthony Thompson

Central London

A few years ago, I downloaded the WalkActive app, but a hectic schedule initially kept me from fully exploring it. However, after attending two WalkActive training sessions with Joanna, I quickly realised what I had been missing.

By incorporating the simple yet effective changes recommended by The WalkActive Method, I now walk taller, have improved posture, and feel stronger and fitter. As someone who prioritises health, fitness and strength, this technique has seamlessly integrated into my lifestyle and it perfectly complements my other training routines.

The WalkActive Method has transformed my daily walks and vacation hikes, enabling me to cover more ground at a faster pace while feeling fantastic. Having experienced its profound effects first hand, I can confidently say that WalkActive is easy to learn and simple to implement anywhere.

I’m excited to share this technique with people of all ages, empowering them to optimise their health span and live well by design, not by default. A longer, healthier life is truly within walking distance!

Trainers in the US

Brian Parselle

California, USA

Hi, I am Brian Parselle and I am a Personal Trainer, certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and others, based in Santa Cruz, California at the Northern End of Monterey Bay.

Some years ago I had some joint replacements. The surgery went very well, the rehab also but it didn’t get me back to where I wanted to be – active, enjoying the gym and the occasional game of tennis. So I hired one of the trainers at my gym, which solved the problem. I vowed that when I retired as a computer specialist I would qualify as a personal trainer so I could help others in the same way.

After six years leading classes at our local Wellness Center, I came across The WalkActive Method. I downloaded the app and taught myself to be a WalkActivist. I wish I had done this years ago!

It was so impressive. I wanted to be able to pass it on to others. I signed up to the WalkActive Academy, travelled to my native UK for the training and am now certified to teach WalkActive.

It is very exciting to see the reaction when my clients realize the improvement to their fitness, their posture and general wellbeing. I mostly work with seniors, but it is great for any age group.

What I teach:

1 on 1, Small groups and Weekly WalkActive Workouts.
